Duet Display App Reviews

My right arm and right hand now

If only apple would equip OSX and Mac Book Pros and iMacs with touch screens, the world would be "perfect" again. Love this app!! It allows me to use my iPad Pro as a monitor, but even better, it gives my OSX environment an ON SCREEN writing, signature, and whiteboarding capability that Ive been wanting for YEARS!!! No matter how "magic" your mouse is, you cant freakin draw with those things, and I dont want to buy a WACOM pad and drag that d_mn thing around... But this... Oh yes! Until Apple decides to create a touch screen desktop device running OSX... (Which would also lure me back to the store to replace my 2008 iMac and my 2007 Mac Book Pro 17")... Well, until then Ill keep my old hardware and this will do just fine as an interim solution. ... Come on Apple... Please merge the iPhone/iPad touch technology with your desktop platforms... Im tired of reaching out an touching my laptop screen only to realize... Oh yeah, it doesnt have that (yet). With love and respect, and a HUGE amount of patience now...

Worst app ever!

Constantly cause the system crashes! Constantly!!!!! I lost tons of work because running this app and the customer support is worthless. Dont buy this app! Its a trouble maker!!!!!

Nice....

No bugs so far. Works very well. Great App. Would love BT integration. Otherwise, no complaints. Its a 5 for me.

Won’t connect, crashes frequently

Neither my Windows 10 desktop nor my MacBook will connect to this app. It just crashes and lags and spits errors into the console. I see a lot of people are having success in these reviews but everything online agrees with my experience. Weird.

Blown away

Let me preface this by saying that I rarely, if ever, give an app a 5 star rating, I reserve that rating for apps that amaze me, this is one such app. Its not for everybody, but having a portable second screen for my laptop is amazing. This is well worth your money.

Lags A LOT

This app lags so much behind whats actually going on the screen (especially the more its used) its nearly impossible to use. If not fixed soon, will rate as 1 star

Photographer Must Have

Duet is definitely a useful app that photographers on the go should add to their tool kits. Supporting multiple system platforms I have quickly been able to use my iPad as a second screen to edit photos with Lightroom on my Mac, iPhone and Windows laptop. It has become a necessity, particularly, when Im traveling light.

Constant crashes

Not at all usable with Windows 7. Crashes almost immediately. Complete waste of $10.

Waste of ten bucks

It makes the screen on my iphone5 appear to windows as a second monitor, but any fast motions onscreen results in screen tears galore. On my computer, i have skyrim playing well over 60fps, but on my phone, it looks like 15fps with constant tearing. Waste of ten bucks for me.

too slow on my iphone

texts are so small on my iphone 6 with ios 9.3... otherwise great :)

Rubbish

Cannot connect to Windows 10 (Surface 3) tablet. Blacks out iPad screen on startup. Knocked out my Zagg keyboard on iPad. Uninstalled. Asking for refund. Shouldnt be allowed in the wild yet.

Simple and convenient

Glad to have a second monitor when I travel.

not what i thought

Okay let me reiterate that this is a great concept; but it is not executed properly. The confluence is not very smooth and there is major lag even though I have a new MacBook Pro with an 2.9 GHz I5 processor and an iPad mini 4. this is basically unusable to me because of the lag issues and the scaling issues. Plus the fan on my MacBook Pro goes haywire once I run this; consequently, I would not really recommend.

iOS 9.3.1 Broke DUET

After updating to iOS 9.3.1, Duet would not connect to the PC and work as advertised. I would hold off on either downloading this app or updating to 9.3.1 until there is a fix from the developer.

Crash after

Since installing app on my laptop (i7,32gb,970gtx) the screen loads on iPad Pro 12.9 at 1366x1024 and if I want to switch resolution the computer screen does not update(locks up), the mouse moves around with no usability, and the iPad screen displays crashed black and colorful lines. Tried to reinstall with no success. Havent been able to use the app at all.

Great app

This works perfectly as a second monitor for meetings or travel.

COMPLETELY AWESOME

Just start using this with my Surface 3 and it is flawless. Initially, it was odd using the duel screen, but Ive learned to use it and it awesome. No problem at all and I can switch back to my iPad; its seamless. I was wondering should I keep my iPad or switch to something compatible with my PC. I love having both Windows and Apple and this app just makes it awesome. Freakin Awesome.

Great.

Really great app, only gripe is that changing the res does absolutely nothing on my iphone 6 plus

Works, and good customer service

The app initially did not work for me (had a blank screen on my IPad). Emailed customer service on a Sunday and got a response same day. They emailed me clear and concise instructions along with the necessary software. My dual monitor display then performed flawlessly. Very happy with both the product and the customer service.

Pretty Darn Good

Dont get me wrong I love the ability to turn my iPad Air 2 into a second screen for my laptop on the go, but it has some quirks. The desktop on the iPad has problems rendering the menu bar at the top of the screen leaving me to have to go back to the MacBook side of things to access certain menus... Also the tops of some windows sometimes look strange as if the silver on the tops has shades of other colors in them not normally present on my macbook.... Other than the nit picky things I listed its pretty good. It used to work 100% fine but for $15 it should not have any problems especially whe it USED.to work no problems at all.
